Samus Aran reinterpretation

These sketches were done for a Metroid fan-game I thought of back in 2016 as a way of building my game development skills. It was meant as its own reinterpretation of Metroid 1, but without taking Zero Mission into account.
The Barrier Suit, aka the mistranslated Varia Suit, was reinterpreted as just an overall defense upgrade, with its heat protection being its own item (Varia core), same with the Gravity Suit as the Gravity Core.
But during the same year the AM2R debacle happened, and had me shelve the project. But not completely, as I've completely reinvented the fan-game into its own world and game, for a future project I want to make once I'm done with the Tomb Of Thunder mod.
